I am sorry to hear about the passing of Kevin Sharp on his 43rd birthday. He was a bone cancer survivor and a singer who performed songs like “Nobody Knows”. According to NBC News, Sharp passed away at 10:49 pm in Fair Oaks, California due to complications from previous stomach surgery and digestive system diseases. Sharp was born in Redding, California and grew up in Idaho where he was diagnosed with Ewings sarcoma as a senior in high school. He was granted a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation and met producer and performer David Foster who became his mentor and friend. After two years of radiation and chemotherapy, Sharp went into remission in 1991 and began recording music. He released his debut album “Measure of a Man” in 1996, which included the hit single “Nobody Knows”. He also charted with several other singles like “Shes Sure Taking It Well” and “If You Love Somebody”. Foster released a statement today saying he was proud to have been a part of Sharps Make-A-Wish day 20 years ago and that Sharps music and story touched many lives. In addition to his music career, Sharp began giving motivational speeches and became a spokesperson for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He published a book about his battle with cancer called “Tragedys Gift” in 2004. A memorial service is planned in Nashville, Tennessee.
