All’età di 50 anni, la cantante Sophie B. Hawkins accoglie la figlia Esther Ballantine
Congratulazioni a Sophie B. Hawkins, che ha dato il benvenuto al suo secondo figlio questa settimana.
Il cantautore, meglio conosciuto per le hit degli anni ’90 “Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover” e “As I Lay Me Down”, ha dato alla luce una ragazza – Esther Ballantine Hawkins – martedì. Hawkins, 50 anni, ha anche un figlio di 6 anni, Dashiell.
“Dashiell ed io siamo estasiati per essere finalmente con la nostra bella ragazza, la nostra famiglia è ora completa!” la mamma orgogliosa ha detto OGGI in una dichiarazione.
La piccola Esther, che era di 8 chili di peso, è nata al New York Presbyterian Hospital, lo stesso ospedale dove è nato Hawkins mezzo secolo fa – un fatto divertente che la mamma di due ha scritto su Twitter.
Hawkins ha annunciato di essere incinta a febbraio, dopo essersi sottoposta a fecondazione in vitro con embrioni che ha congelato quasi 20 anni fa.
“Avevo, sai, parlato con un medico della fertilità a New York”, ha rivelato Hawkins quando ha visitato di recente OGGI. “E lei disse: ‘Sei vecchio.’ E dissi: “Questo è il punto”. Mio figlio ha una madre anziana, perché non posso dargli un figlio giovane per essere la sua famiglia per il resto della sua vita “, ha detto a OGGI.
Hawkins ha aggiunto: “Lei [il dottore Hawkins] ha detto che sono la donna incinta più sana, avrei potuto avere 30 anni e avuto molti più problemi, a 50 anni non ho avuto problemi”.

Congratulations to Sophie B. Hawkins, who welcomed her second child this week. The singer-songwriter, best known for the 90s hits “Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover” and “As I Lay Me Down”, gave birth to a girl – Esther Ballantine Hawkins – on Tuesday. Hawkins, 50, also has a 6-year-old son, Dashiell. “Dashiell and I are ecstatic to finally be with our beautiful girl, our family is now complete!” the proud mom said in a statement to TODAY. And I said, Thats the point. My son has an older mother, why cant I give him a young sibling to be his family for the rest of his life,” she told TODAY.
